Family & Friends of Keith Pryor, thank you to all who have been sending continuous prayers and positive energy. It is so appreciated. This story is brief and developed so quickly that the family could not even catch their breath. Wednesday evening (1/3), Keith complained about a sore arm and verbalized that he must have pulled a muscle. Thursday he felt increasingly sick and he and Steph simply thought he had picked up a bug. However, by Thursday night Keith was feeling horrible and thus they took him to the ER. That evening the doctor's initial diagnosis was that of Cellulitis (a bacterial skin infection) and they started intravenous antibiotics. He was admitted to the hospital to stay overnight. By morning Keith's labs were looking worse so the doctors decided to do surgery to try to remove the infection. This surgery was somewhat quick, and once the surgeons were finished they were fairly certain that the original diagnosis was incorrect. The new diagnosis is Necrotizing Fasciitis, a very serious bacterial infection that destroys tissue under the skin. They took Keith back into surgery this morning (1/6) after his labs were not showing signs of improvement. They removed as much material as possible without affecting the function of his arm. By this afternoon Keith's team of doctors felt he was stable enough to travel and concluded that Anschutz Hospital would be the best place for his continued care. He was taken by helicopter to Denver where he is stable. He has been semi-conscious, somewhat in-and-out, and currently semi-sedated. The team of doctors at Anschutz will monitor his labs continuously and act accordingly. His family is asking for prayers that Keith's body will fight off the rest of this infection with the antibiotics and that further surgeries will be few to none. Please visit this site to check on updates to Keith's condition. All the prayers and good thoughts are truly appreciated. Keith is strong physically and mentally and his relentless perseverance will no doubt be a key part of this story.

Journal entry by Stephanie Pryor

5 weeks post-op today! The staples are out!!! Dr. Grayson was so impressed with the skin graft and Keith’s progress. We got the green light to start pushing his range of motion - the graft is fully healed. Next is getting fitted for a compression sleeve to help control the swelling. Keith still has his work cut out for him but we are hopeful he can get most (if not all) of the function back in his arm. He has a great team of OTs and does his exercises whenever he can.

As we were heading out and walking down the long corridor, I felt like there should be cheering - Keith MADE IT out of there alive and with his arm. HOW AMAZING IS THAT? Truly God’s miracle. Love to all - 💕Steph
