Keith ’s Story

Site created on June 20, 2022

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Keith was diagnosed with stage IV metastatic rectal cancer that had spread to his lungs and liver on April 11th. Keith's original treatment plan consisted of 8 weeks of chemotherapy followed by 8 more weeks of radiation before surgery would take place to remove whatever remained of the primary mass. Keith and Nikki also decided to get a second opinion from the Mayo clinic and were seen very shortly after his original records were sent! After further scans and tests, the oncologists mentioned that he was responding well to the first few rounds of chemotherapy! He will now continue his treatment plan to receive 3 more months of chemotherapy followed by surgery to remove the original mass and lesions on his liver. He will then receive radiation to help remove any remaining cells in his rectum, along with the lesions that were found in his lungs.

Keith is an incredibly generous, proud, and selfless human being. In fact, he did not want the attention drawn to him with a CaringBridge site or financial love. However, he has an enormous support system that is beyond eager to fight this fight along side him, Nikki, daughters Jasmyn and Mariah, and sons Anthony and Marcus. If you are hoping to show your love and support to Keith and his family, please send your donations to  Support Keith Nasby! (gofundme.com) (https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-keith-nasby)

Yesterday Keith checked into St. Johns hospital to have his chemo port removed! No more chemo!! All of his recent chekups have been nothing but good news, his doctors are extremely pleased with his progess! He will continue to have scans every 3 months for the next year to make sure there are no new growths.
