Journal entry by Stacy Meyer

As of Monday we have been able to enter the building and see Keith again.  Yay!  It sounds like for therapy, they have still been working on standing.  He has been standing for about 3 minutes at a time yet.  He said they got him on a "bike" yesterday for about 15 minutes and that it felt really good on his left hip.  We are still not seeing any movement on the left side.  We have a conference call with the facility again today at 1:00.  Besides hearing about any progress,  the main topic of discussion from our side will be finding in home care.  We found the Abbotsford nursing home is pretty depressing and we really want to get him home.  That's proving easier said than done though.  We have calls in to multiple different in-home care facilities, have reached out to some personal recommendations, the case worker hasn't returned our phone calls on the subject and Bayfield County sent a list of places to contact, but between no call backs and places having lack of help, we're not getting anywhere.  So please - if any of you have any suggestions (in Bayfield County/Cable area) we will gladly hear them.  Insurance is set to stop paying for his stay on June 1st and we were hoping to have something figured out by then.  However, if that doesn't happen we are thinking we would like him moved to a better facility.  We will also be calling Medford Aspirus Care and Rehab on June 1st.  They are going to be re-opening and think that may be a more uplifting place until we can find in home care.  If there are any places that any of you suggest that way, please feel free to reach out as well.
