Journal
Six weeks have passed since Keith’s kidney transplant at the University of Minnesota Hospital. I am thrilled to report that he is doing great.
His blood pressure has stabilized, his labs are mostly normal, he is no longer on a restricted diet (hooray for pickles), and he has newfound strength and energy.
On October 30, Keith had surgery to remove a stent from his ureter and his dialysis catheter was removed from his neck. Once that area heals up, Keith will be able to submerge himself in his beloved bath. He has been given the OK to go from having labs drawn three times a week to two times a week. These sessions take minutes as opposed to the four hour sessions he endured three times a week the last couple of years during dialysis.
We have written a letter of thanks to the donor’s family, which will go through the proper channels to reach them.
Words cannot express the relief and joy We feel.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your constant support.
