Site created on May 4, 2012

On September 1, 2021 Kay was diagnosed with Covid, she was vaccinated but this new variant is relentless. We will update you on her condition through this site.

After many illnesses/falls and finding out her heart was only working at 10% - Kay entered Hospice in late March 2023.

Kay passed away on April 2, 2023 with her family by her side.

Journal entry by Julie Philbrook

It’s hard to believe it’ll soon be a month since mom’s funeral. I can’t thank you enough for all the prayers,  love and support that you gave us through mom‘s illness and during her passing and funeral.  A testament to how loved she was is the 100+ cards that I just went through for a second time. I don’t think there was a duplicate in the pile, As I shared during the funeral, she kept every greeting card she ever received,  she would be touched to have received so many from people that loved her.
In addition to the cards, the donations that we received in her memory are being given to the church, ( as well as some  to the CaringBridge site, We found this to be so helpful during times of illness and loss.) Unless otherwise designated, we have  asked mom‘s circle Bible study to decide where the funds should be used. The group, which she lead for many years, sponsors several mission projects (in the past mom helped decide where donations/memorials would  go.). So we felt it only fitting they choose what to support in her  memory.

Mother’s Day will be hard without her, but we find great peace in knowing she is at peace.
