Journal entry by Sarah Heckber

Trust that I wish I could have the time ambition mental state patience and everything else needed to post updates on Kaylee everyday or even once a week. I should as a way to Thank everyone literally from the bottom of my heart. Life happens. And it’s midnight and three weeks past the first time I wanted to post. So I’m actually driving and Kaylee is typing this. Hey everyone, thank you so much. Her progress through this alone is truly amazing and I will be forever grateful I mean really grateful that he let me have more time with her. She completed 18 weeks of speech therapy at Parkview outpatient I may have mentioned before. And amazed her speech therapist so much that we thought we would see how she did on her own this child’s will to not give up is a beautiful thing whether she knows it or not. Whether it’s god moving inside of her it doesn’t matter. Everyday I see a little more of the old Kaylee if anything comes good out of a divorce it’s the fact that I’ve been able to walk beside her every single day and I’m not sure I could’ve done it otherwise. It brought her and her brother so close and you know that only makes a mothers heart smile. Easton is of course back in school and Kaylee is quick to remind him that he better get to sleep because he has school in the morning. I’m so thankful for my kids. Kaylee looks forward to supporting him and whatever athletic endeavors he chooses. She has a long way to go she’s not content herself to where she is I like to think one thing she got from me was her free spirit and her ability to just love life. We return to Chicago on the 22nd for a full day neuropsych test ( I’m not even spelling anything for her! ) Kaylee hopes this gets her, her drivers license back and possibly the ability to enroll in college courses. I’d be fine if she just stayed with me the whole time lol. But I still continually push her to get out there spread her wings and fly. Thank you once again for all the kind words, thoughts, and prayers, gifts, and cards, and just for your selfless time you gave to Kaylee and our family. This truly is a great community and far beyond. Though Kaylee doesn’t remember much and she may never if I see any one of you trust that I pull out your card tell her your gift or your words any chance I get. Through god she will continue healing to whatever state he has chosen for her. We just live each day to that day and she trusts life is what you make it. With love
