6 months ago. Celebrating and grieving today … I want to thank everyone for all the love and grace and support you’ve shown our family over the last 6 months. Let’s see what Kayla and Emily do over the next 6 months! I know God is in this and sometimes I still get so angry that it had to be my girls this happened to. He’s bigger than my fears and I see Kayla’s smile or hear Emily’s laugh and it encourages me… as they grow closer and stronger in their relationship, I can’t think of any other sisters that are more able to take on the world than Em and Kay. 🫶🏻Something big and powerful will continue to come of this. I am so grateful THEY LIVED! 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
👩🏻‍🦼💕♿️ This is also disability pride month. Be kinder and more understanding. Be a better person than you were yesterday and understand that a wheelchair doesn’t mean “less than.” It’s just different. Please understand the world has a very long way to go as far as accessibility and safety for those that use a wheelchair or another device. Pay attention to what’s happening with airline travel and those that have to travel with a wheelchair or device. Have you ever thought about those that have experienced paralysis and how you could and should be more aware of what needs to change for those with disabilities? I’ve become aware that some people with Kayla’s exact level of injury only rarely leave their homes because of the lack of resources and lack of accessibility? Many with her level get just a few hours a week of care and don’t have support. Many live alone! Please open your minds and hearts to the vulnerability of others because the system is the worst for spinal cord/paralysis. ❤️‍🩹 onward. 💔
