Kayla’s Story

Site created on January 6, 2023

Kayla was diagnosed with head and neck Fibroblastic Sarcoma in December 2022. She will undergo an extensive free-flap surgical procedure to remove the tumor, and reconstruct her maxilla, upper teeth, and hard palate on January 6, 2023.

Kayla has dedicated her life to helping others. She graduated nursing school in 2021 and holds two jobs, one as a surgical nurse, and one as a home health nurse. She is respected and loved by so many in this community.

Beyond her diagnosis and career, Kayla is the perfect example of a true friend. Her infectious smile and boisterous laugh can put anyone in a good mood. She is wise beyond her years, can command a room with her funny disposition, and would drop anything to help anyone she loves. She is as positive as they come, and hasn’t let this change her positivity.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Amanda Scully

Kayla is currently getting her last dressing change at WK and waiting on her walker. Discharge paperwork is already being processed and OUR GIRL IS COMING HOME TODAY!!!

GOD IS GOOD! 💖

Please respect the privacy of Kayla and her family as they get adjusted at home over the weekend.

If you plan on visiting Kayla, please send her or Patti a text/call and figure out a good time.

She continues to need plenty of rest to heal from a very long two weeks.

Thank you again for all your prayers! The army behind her has been nothing short of amazing.

I will only be updating this page in the future if there are any really big announcements.
