Katie’s Story

Site created on June 16, 2019

After Katie’s many years of giving to the community, it is now time for us to give back to her. Katie is one of those friends that leave behind their work and come running to help a friend in need.  Her big smile makes your joy grow by leaps and has the power to disperse the darkest clouds. She is the grandma pampering our kids, a lollypop in hand, ready to sit down on the ground for a board game or a silly story. She has been that loving and giving in person in the lives of so many of us.  Now Katie has come to a point in her life where she needs her friends to help.  It is time for her to settle into a well-deserved, peaceful retirement.

As often happens to those who have taken care of us in their vibrant years, life in this area is too expensive to afford in retirement. Katie is in need of a home and she needs to be close to her friends.  The house where Katie has long lived is now being sold and she is in need of a place to live. If you have an affordable spare room with a bathroom, a guest unit, or a garage that can be converted into one and would be willing to welcome a warm and loving person in it, please reach out.  If you are not able to help with a place or idea for housing, please feel free to donate or simply connect with Katie and say hello.
