With a very heavy heart, I hate to post that this past Tuesday (7 September, 2021 at 12:50pm), Katie passed away peacefully while resting at home in her own bed.

For all of those that knew her well, this is where she wanted to be and we were able to keep her there throughout hospice care. She fought so hard, even during her last breathes with both her mom, Pam, and I at her side. We are all so devastated by Katie's passing but find a little relief in now knowing she is no longer suffering and can move on to heaven. But, we all still miss her so much. 

Thank you to all that have reached out and/or posted stories/pictures of Katie on social media. The strength and size of the community that has surrounded Katie, Grayson, our families, and I has made this difficult time that much more bearable. We will all grieve, but are choosing to remember the positive light she has been to so many that knew her.

Katie choose to be cremated and A Celebration of Life memorial service has been set up at the funeral home location/time here in Maple Grove as listed below. We really hope those who would like to come, say goodbye, or just remember Katie with others who loved her, can do so. But, we understand if you can not or prefer not too. Come for a few minutes, or the entire duration. Both Katie and I were not heavily religious people, so this memorial service will be centered on talking about Katie's amazing life, sharing stories and/or letters from those who love her; and just remembering how much she meant to all of us.

An obituary will be run in tomorrow's Star and Tribune newspaper, and also on the funeral homes website (www.kozlakradulovich.com).

Grayson has lost his Mother, I have lost my Wife and best friend, and we have all lost her smile and laughter. But, she wanted us all to keep on moving, and not take life for granted. Love and hug those around you everyday, and keep her in your thoughts, stories, and laughter. Katie will for ever be missed but we can all keep her spirit alive together.
