Journal

My journey started in eating February. My husband Jeff & I moved to a new area that September (2021) so I needed to find a new doctor. After months of looking for a clinic to take my insurance. I finally found one after going to urgent care. After going to see my new doctor. The first visit I was diagnosed with carpeltunnel in my right hand. A week later I went back because the carpeltunnel didn’t explain my balance being off! She learned my gait was off. I was having alone time me with walking and balance. So, she asked I have brain MRI done. So, I did that Friday February 4th! They called me first thing and said a golf sized lump was found in the cerebellum. I was having the first brain surgery  on Thursday February 11th they had me stay in the ICU until Thursday February 18th. They drained all fluid that was surrounding my brain and did a procedure they took part of my skull and part of my spine because I was having spasms in my neck they also did a biopsy. The doctor was able to get three samples to be tested. The first sample and the second samples came back benign the third sample came back with stage 4 brain cancer. Once all the fluid was drained out I got to go home.

After surgery I had vision issues and I couldn’t talk well. They stated me on Dexathamose (steroid) February “21” .
A month later March 11th I had a shunt installed in my head in hope that radiation won’t clog the natural drainage hole but just in case the shunt will kick in and drain the fluid!

I finished radiation & Chemotherapy May 5th and a month later I started Chemotherapy again this time the dose was doubled.
I later found out that the cancer is not in my blood instead my brain created the cancer. The only way to track the tumor is with an MRI.
Now,  with it being December I’m not taking a steroid anymore to give my body’s break. I still have issues walking and my vision has its moments. I’m not allowed to drive anymore and I’m not allowed to work anymore as well!!
My next MRI is December 28th. Our hope is the tumor doesn’t grown! My hope is it’ll just go away!!! I’m staying positive!!
