Journal entry by Katie Dalton

Insomnia has had me awake since 5:00am or so, and I've been doing a lot of thinking. And one thing I felt like I needed to do was to make a raw and real post about my health conditions since I had my first documented case of COVID in 2020. Life has definitely not been easy. Along with health issues, I have had to deal with being terminated from a job I thoroughly enjoyed, lack of funds to live and survive and gaslighting from people, family even, who know and supposedly love me with no empathy or even sympathy for my situation. COVID caused major anxiety issues that I had never dealt with before. At a time when I should be focusing on my health and getting well, I have had to deal with situations that should have been handled with more mercy and empathy than what they were. And on top of everything I have now lost friendships with folks who I was once so very close with.  It hurts to say the least.

In my photo gallery, I have shared some screenshots of visit notes from my doctor visits to give you all a real view into my life since Nov. 2020. Although they have no real solution and answers to long COVID problems, or how long the problems may last, they have been able to prescribe some medications to help with some of my symptoms.I am in a better place mentally and physically but still not 100%.

I ask that if I have done anything to hurt you or cause damage to our friendship since I've been sick, please reach out to me. I know that I haven't been myself and I have no desire to have anyone upset with me. I need some normalcy and that includes having my friends and family in my life. If you have any questions or wonderings, reach out. I'm an open book. I would above all else ask that you continue to keep me in your thoughts and prayers. This journey isn't over and we don't know when it will be.
