Kathy’s Story

Site created on January 20, 2021

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

As you all know,  Kathy is currently serving as a teacher at a Christian school in Guatemala to largely missionary children. Shortly after she returned from Christmas break, she began to feel unwell.   In light of the pandemic,  she decided to get tested for COVID a few days later. She tested negative.

Continuing to feel poorly,  she sought medication which helped very briefly. When the pain became severe and the medication no longer helped,  she went to the private ER during the night, early morning,  on January 14.

After many, many tests,  and surgery, Kathy has been diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer.   While the course of proscribed treatment is long, God knows and cares and has Kathy in the palm of His hands.

Please continue to pray for peace and strength and joy.

Friends,
Thank you so much for all of the support you showed to Kathy, Tashia, and me during Kathy's illness and final home-going. Your prayers, words of encouragement, and practical help were a huge part of God's grace and provision during such a hard, hard time.

Much love,
Ginger
