So much to celebrate this season. I am now 105 days post transplant. I’m no longer in a critical stage and I have been in full remission for several months now. I can now lay off some of the restrictions from the past 8 months. My hair, brows and lashes have started to grow back. I am able to return to work which is thrilling. I eat food and actually enjoy it. I can drive and go shopping. I can have an occasional glass of wine and work out with a trainer. I am able to walk four miles and get myself off the sofa with ease. I can have a lunch date with people. I do still wear a mask as instructed and I only eat outdoors at restaurants.
Overall, my body feels pretty normal. I haven’t felt this healthy in many months. Nausea is still lingering, however, I have faith it will go away soon. I am also still getting some chemo stomach injections and bone marrow chemo or biopsies but nothing that requires a hospital stay. Soon my visits with the doctor will be further and further apart and I’ll be on less and less meds. Modern medicine is a life saver. Add in a brilliant doctor who specializes in your disease and the best, most nurturing nurses and in less than a year I’m put back together again. Life is good.
I will be returning to work come the new year. The plan is to start slow per doctor and Scott orders. That means I will simply start on set and get back to being behind the chair when I build my strength and endurance back. I would like to be fully back to work at a new salon come Spring. I am currently looking for a new place to do hair at. Exciting changes to come!
Thank you for the ongoing love and support. I wish you all a stellar and peaceful new year.
