Journal

Good news today, my recent CT scan is clear. That makes two years after my uterus and lymph nodes were removed, my CT showed clear, and chemo & radiation treatments began.

A neuroendocrine cancer specialist answered a question I’d once posed, saying if in 3+ years the NEC cancer does not return, I’ll be one of the very rare individuals who has beaten this form of cancer.  I’m actually rare to get even this far!

Anyone who has experienced cancer knows their lives never go completely back to where they were before. First, their lives have been shortened due to the toll treatment causes their body.

More importantly, they’re now always looking over their shoulder at any ache, pain, or small physical anomaly.   They’re not fully able to accept that cancer will stay gone.

For example, my recent CT scan revealed a new 3mm lung nodule.  The oncologist is unconcerned.  Lung nodules are common, generally benign, and many of us get them without even knowing.  But now it’s hard for me to blow it off. I’ll be watching for the next scan to see if it’s changed.

Someday I’m hoping a cure is found and cancer cases will be as low as Polio cases today.

Thanks for reading this far, and for your love and support❤️.
