Journal entry by Bob Clarke

This is Kathy,  cancer-free Kathy! I had my appointment with the oncologist this morning, and she gave me the results of my PET scan. She told me that it was "very boring" because there was nothing on it! I am over the moon happy! No more treatments! They got all the cancer! Thank you for your faithful prayers on my behalf. Bob and I are eager to get back to life as it was before June (whoops, I forgot about Covid! I guess we'll still have life that's a bit different at least for awhile, as you all are living it too).

I praise the Lord for allowing me to be victorious over cancer twice now. Four years ago in a mammogram they miraculously found a very tiny amount of cancer in one breast, and with a lumpectomy and radiation it was taken care of completely. Then, this past Spring, I had a bout of colitis (something I'd never had before), and it caused the gastrointestinal doctor to give me a colonoscopy. He took a biopsy, and sent it away to Johns Hopkins. It showed a small amount of anal cancer. Again, it was a fortuitous find (I'd call it a God-directed find), and these past five months I've had a heavy duty treatment of chemo and radiation. But it's over now, and soon they will take out the port that is in my chest for all the infusions and blood tests I've needed. And soon my hair will come growing back too (that'll be nice, as the two wigs that I ordered on-line were Halloween-worthy!) I will be so glad to face the day cancer free again. I have been leaning on the Lord's precious words to me, the love of my dear husband, and the prayers and communications of countless family and friends. I am a blessed woman, indeed!

This is Bob now.  I also want to thank you for all the many ways you have supported us during this time of need.  Your prayers, notes, cards and other expressions of love and care have truly blessed us.  May the Lord bless you all as you and He have blessed us.
