Kathleen’s Story

Site created on January 20, 2020

Last year I noticed an increase the frequency in my migraines.  I went to a neurologist in November and we did an MRI.  We found aneurysm. In early December we did an MRA and found out that it is 6MM in size (small). It’s an unusual shape-like a shamrock.  After talking to the radiologist, it turns out I am not a good candidate for coils which is the less invasive procedure. On March 5, I will be having craniotomy to clip the aneurysm.  That should take care of the risk for rupture. My recovery will take about a month with a week or so in the hospital. I am staying at my parents’ house and will be recovering there with the two  best nurses anyone can ask for (four legs and flopping ears).

Journal entry by Kathleen Rogers

On May 20 I will be going in for my second procedure. I will still be at United hospital for one night but due to the pandemic I can not have any visitors or anyone with me at the hospitals.
