Journal entry by Kathleen Buse —
Hello Family and Friends,
Today marks six weeks post-surgery! The doctors tell me that that means my sternum has healed. I can now drive and sleep in any position I like! 😀 😁 😃
Overall I feel better every day. Some highlights of my recovery:
- The pain is gone.
- The scars are healing well.
- I am sleeping much better.
- Cardio rehab started last week and will continue for the next three months. It is being covered by insurance. I am sure the activity is helping me feel better and is part of why I am sleeping better.
- I will continue to see the doctors as scheduled. I continue to do as they say. I will be as strong as ever and back to hopefully "normal" sooner than later.
- My only concern is that I tire very easily. It is my hope and expectation that as I continue to do the rehab and follow the medical teams' recommendations, the fatigue will subside.
This will be my last Caring Bridge Post as I know I am well on the way to recovery.
Thank you for continuing to follow my journey as I have recovered from the surgery and continue to heal. I continue to be strengthened by your prayers, visits, calls, texts, posts, cards, and so many other ways you have connected with me. What I know for sure is that the healing is happening, I continue to grow stronger every day, and I know my faith and your support have uplifted and healed me.
Please take care of yourselves.
Thank you for the love and support.
Kathleen
