Journal

Dust falls from the door and frame. Long unused hinges groan and strain as they fight against the forces making them inexorably yield and move.

Any nerd worth their trivia can easily envision Hari Seldon's image flickering to life and speaking to the Foundation members.

Exactly two years ago to the day I posted the first entry to this Blog. Or is it Mlog? Or Mblog? Never did settle that question.

Two years ago the diagnosis was "Cancer" and the plan was for surgery followed by chemo and radiation.

As said The Grateful Dead, "What a long, strange trip it's been."

And in just 6 days comes another anniversary. That of the first proclamation of being "Cancer Free". After the scalpel, the drugs, and the sub-atomic particles the first tests to detect any cancer remaining can back with nothing.

Such moments should not go unheralded.

So it is that I slither and crawl out from beneath my rock and stand, blinking in and cursing the sunlight, to share the moment with all those who followed Katherine's progress down into the dark and back again into the sunlight.

And to once more thank all of you who did so much to support her through the darkest part of the journey.

I think I am safe in assuming everyone is aware of the events affecting the world during the first half of 2020. No need rehashing all that. But I should let everyone know that Katherine (and I, though that is of little import) have thus far come through unscathed. Though I have begun to suspect of late that she is beginning to feel about being around me almost 24/7 rather like the dog that chased the bus and finally caught it - "What the hell do I do now that I got what I wanted?"

Yes, there have been some adventures and misadventures in the months since I last posted here. And most of them have been shared on the Chateau Chaos page (for which I am off to work on an update after finishing here).

But I could not allow this moment to pass without acknowledging all the support from all of you who were there from the beginning and held on for the whole ride.

Thanks.
