Katelyn’s Story

Site created on February 23, 2022

About 3 years ago Katelyn (KP) began suffering from migraines. Her neurologist suggested she have an MRI, which revealed a very large tumor on the left side of her brain. An experienced Mayo Clinic neurosurgeon removed 98% of it on April 1, 2022, and more therapies are required. KP is a third year medical school student at the University of Minnesota.

Per KP’s last post: “2. Appreciate growing old. I hear so many people complain about birthdays, aches and pains, difficulties as we age. I understand the complaints because I know it sucks sometimes, but I would give anything to live those things, whether I have 5 or 50 years left to live because that means you ARE living.

Speaking of living, how about a brisk walk/run? Please consider joining TEAM KP POWER for the 14th Annual MN Brain Tumor 5K!

“Join us at Stillwater (MN) Area High School on Sunday, May 21, 2023 for the 14th Annual MN Brain Tumor 5K, a run/walk in support of brain tumor research. 100% of registration fees & participant sponsorships go toward the Musella Foundation for Brain Tumor Research and Information, Inc., a 501(c)3 non-profit public charity.”
