Journal entry by Lund Family —
The day Karl was supposed to enter this world and join our family came and went with empty arms and empty belly. Our time with this sweet child was short. We are thankful we had the opportunity to meet him and get to know him a little bit during his 18 days of life.
We received the results from the genetic testing. The results are "negative" which means as of today the gene causing Karl's condition (and very likely that of Irma too) has not been identified yet. The function of only about 25% of all human genes is know so far.
This doesn't bring a clear answer as we had hoped it would. But it is an answer non the less. God is not just a God of miracles but also a God of mysteries. We accept that on this earth we won't know everything. One day, not only will we see our children again, but all questions will have answers. We trust God in the process.
