Journal

In way of giving a quick summary of our past couple days, Karis is home and doing super well from all we can tell.  She was discharged on Friday afternoon and slept well all night, other than a few wake-ups when I checked her levels and vitals--all good!  Saturday she walked the driveway with me twice--a big deal!  Her spirometer (aka "new toy") was by her side all day and she went from a tough 500 to 1250 by the end of the day (a doo-dad that measures an indrawn breath).  Sunday dawned and she was ready to roll!  Knowing her contagious period was long-since past, she donned some clothing that our friend graciously brought back from her campus visit (thank you, Tracy!) and went to church!  We had a wonderful patio lunch with sister Becca and her family--SO good to squeeze that little baby boy! Karis rested up for a few hours and again went out to the church youth meeting in the evening, finding plenty of oomph to also go out afterward with friends.  She makes ME tired!  This morning, after a 1/4mile walk with me, she's diving into schoolwork and hoping to catch up on two solid weeks of missed classes.  This is already mid-term!  Our prayer now is for wisdom that she and we will know the timing of her return to campus and wisdom in helping her regain what she lost health-wise. THANK YOU for every prayer, note, offer to help....  And we officially know now that my own covid test is negative!   We have humble hearts that are full of thanksgiving.
