Kari’s Story

Site created on February 18, 2022

Midday Thursday February 17th Kari  had a medical event that led to her becoming incapacitated for period of time and needing to be rushed to BSA hospital.   After getting to the hospital and having a first test we learned that Kari had a brain tumor that led to this event.   The event could’ve been the result of several bad things. As day one passed Kari became fully alert and we learned, thankfully, that it was not any of these: not a stroke , not a bleed,  not an aneurysm, and  no lasting impairments from this event.   Praise God!  A plan was made to get her to specialists out of town.  Day two held more tests, updates, many blessings,  and some challenges.   I’m typing this update on the morning of day three.  Kari  is alert awake and to be transported to UT Southwestern hospital in Dallas.   We are hearing possibilities of some really good things and some really hard things. We are trusting The Great Physician and know He is moving.   Thank you for your friendship thoughts and prayers,  Martin . Psalm 91

From Kari:  “Thankfulness is what my heart is full of this morning! All of our lives probably changed a year ago today, either physically (guess that would be me), emotionally or spiritually. For me it was all three. What an experience the past year has been! Couldn’t have made it though without all of you and the Lord.
This morning I was in Colossians. 2:6-7 says “So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught and overflowing with thankfulness.”
Commentary that I read said “you actively get on with the work to be done and the life to be lived, confident in the good-hearted companionship of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit..”
Pretty much sums up where I am! Ready to live life, but SO confident in His companionship, because I’ve experienced it so intensely over the past year. I loved the word companionship!

I’m so thankful for all of you and pray that you have seen Him in a new and fresh way this past year.

IPS - I was released from physical therapy on Wednesday😀”
