Update: July 21st, 2019
I’ve wanted to update sooner but I had a few unexpected issues since coming home. I’m feeling better and praying that I continue to each day. I have felt overwhelmed with the challenges of my cancer diagnosis, and all the other challenges that have followed. God makes this promise: Ask and you will receive! And God keeps that promise. He is faithful. God has definitely carried me through one of the most challenging years of my life, beginning last April, 2018. This past Friday, July 19th, 2019 I had my appt with my oncologist to go over the treatment plan of chemotherapy and radiation. Chemo and radiation will be done at the same time just different days over a period of 8-9 weeks possibly longer depending on what the scans show as to the progress of the treatments. After I’m finished with those treatments, I will have immunotherapy maintenance infusions for preventative measures. This is very aggressive treatments and I praying for the strength I will need to get through this journey. The issues that I’ve had since coming home, I will now need to have a 3 part MRI of 3 different areas that could be affected with metastatic cancer. Praying, that it’s not. My oncologist wanted it done this weekend but the schedule was booked up. I can’t go until this coming Thursday July 25th, unless there’s a cancellation, this Tuesday July 23rd, I see the radiation doctor and go over the treatment plan he has for the radiation, then later that morning I see my surgeon for my follow up and to get an outpatient surgery scheduled to put a port in my chest for the chemotherapy. So, I have a very busy week coming up, but I’m so ready to get started. I’m already 3 weeks behind of getting the treatments started after having the surgery, they usually like to get the chemo and radiation started within 3 weeks from the day of surgery. I’m stressed about it because of the 8 lymph nodes that were taken out all 8 of them had cancer cells in them, which means they could travel to other areas. But God’s got this, and through my Faith and God’s Grace He will carry me through. We are never alone. Please Lord, bring me peace and comfort during these struggles in my life. I want to thank my family and friends for all your thoughts and prayers that have been sent for me. God Bless!
