Journal
Hi everyone!
This is Karen. I know Chris has written all of our updates so far but today I thought I'd give it a shot! It probably won't be quite as entertaining as his posts. First, I want to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for all the love and support shown to me and my family. This morning I had a chance to read through all of the cards that were sent to us throughout my treatment again - I saved them all! Knowing people took the time to think of us, say a prayer or send a card means more than you know. It's such a simple thing but it helps so much. You all have helped pull us through this. To my parents, my brother and sisters, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins (big shout out to my cousin Stacey for coming to be with me during my surgery from Dallas!), and the greatest circle of friends and neighbors, we want to say again, THANK YOU!
It's hard to believe my surgery was not quite 2 weeks ago. I'm feeling pretty good. I still have quite a bit of swelling and I'm not supposed to move my arms a whole lot. It's a lot of sitting around doing nothing. I'm not going to lie, it's hard for me to lie around all day! I'm anxious to get back to the gym, to work, to running Luke around, to my everyday normal life!
So, I think it's safe to say, I have officially kicked cancer's ass! Have a safe and Happy New Year. See you in 2019!
