The’s Story

Site created on April 17, 2016

This is Tana - Karen's daughter.  I started this site when my mom was hospitalized with blood clots in 2016 and when she received chemo for lymphoma.

This site now provides updates on my dad - Al who was diagnosed with grade IV glioblastoma on August 25, 2021.

I am reinstating this site after my mom had a stroke on Friday, April 30th, 2021  while at her home in Bismarck.  My dad was not there at the time but arrived home and quickly called the ambulance and got mom to St. A's in Bismarck.  Those quick decisions allowed my mom to be a candidate to have the clot retrieved and removed from her brain...giving her the best chance at recovery.

This site is an opportunity for friends and extended family to get updates while Karen works on her recovery from her stroke.   My mom and dad (and my brother, Jim and I) are so incredibly grateful for all of the outpouring of love, support and prayers.  The texts and emails are wonderful and plentiful - thank you!  All of the communication is a little hard to keep up with at this time - so will use this site also for information on how best to communicate.

God is good - all of the time.  Your prayers and support are felt and so greatly appreciated by us all.
