March-April update!

It's been a while since I have updated the site, I wanted to wait until I had official dates before posting anything.

On March Fourth, Karah had the first of four appointments at Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN. The first being multiple HD MRIs in the morning.

The next afternoon, Karah's MRI results had been reviewed, and we learned that her right side auditory tumor has grown from 1.45cc in September 2023, to 1.82cc. The neurosurgeon we were seeing mentioned that based on the growth, Karah's word perception in her right ear, as well as her balance, he recommended removal surgery. We then met with several members of the Mayo Clinic NF2 clinic who had unanimously decided that treatment is necessary and that an operation will be scheduled.

 On April 2nd, Karah met with her audiologist and neurosurgeon to discuss the potential of a Cochlear implant. Until surgery is performed, it isn't possible to know if a cochlear implant will allow Karah to have some hearing in her right ear. That day, the date for surgery was set for May 22nd 2024.
