Journal entry by Shanda Olson —
As many of you know Kamar was brought to Avera early Saturday morning in critical condition. He arrived with his intensities outside of his abdomen. As well as a stab wound to the nose and lip. He has a midline abdomen incision with wound vac,(scar down his stomach) sutures on his left and right hand, sutures on his upper chest, staples left lower abdomen, as well as sutures between his eyebrows and lip/cheek/nose. The trauma team worked tirelessly and were successful in getting him stable.
Currently he is in recovery, on oxygen as his oxygen has been getting low. They aren’t worried about it as he has been resting. The goal today is getting him either up on the side of the bed or even up standing, getting some juice or broth in his stomach and see how he handles that.
We will try to add updates as they come along. Please continue to lift Kamar and his family up during his time of healing.
