Justin’s Story

Site created on May 26, 2018

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your prayers, support and words of hope and encouragement.

On May 24th, Justin was flown via Medivac to Shock Trauma in Baltimore for a brain bleed and seizures. He had emergency surgery to alleviate the pressure and bleeding on his brain. He has so many family and friends that are texting and calling so we are communicating now via this site for information on his journey.

Journal entry by Amy Conigliaro

Today we headed to Baltimore for a follow up appointment with the neurosurgeon (or as John says “guru”) that performed Justin’s 2nd and final surgery on May 25th. This was the surgery to remove the 2nd bleed that was inside his brain that had surfaced as a result of the 1st surgery, also May 25th, 12:30 am. The 1st picture is from the cat scan taken when he arrived at the University of Maryland brain trauma unit, the 2nd was today. “Remarkable” was the word the doctor used today.  He is a very lucky young man, and we are luckier. Dr. Arabi said that he doesn’t need to see him again, to just follow up with the neurologist. His speech is improving everyday. We are forever grateful for all the prayers, they are working. 😘😇🙏
