Sign In to Show Your SupportOn track. "You are in remission" from the Oncologist this last Friday. The words hit differently. It means that all members of the care team recognize that I've hit a major milestone in my treatment. Three infusion treatments left and then the reconnective surgery to get it "put back together" so to speak.
In the meantime, the infusion treatments continue to go well. I should mention.. they are not all roses and butterflies. They seem to be hitting pretty hard as I round the corner into infusion ten. Most of all, it's fatigue and being super tired. Other effects include extreme cold sensitivity (touch and taste) and random bouts of nausea that just seem to appear from the middle of nowhere. Still, I am reminded each time I visit Rogel Cancer Center, that I have it good in comparison to many others.
So what's next? 3 more infusion treatments spread out every two weeks. A resting period post-chemo and then surgery to get it back together in January. The recovery from that surgery leaves the timeline in question regarding return to work. That will be sometime in Spring either in March or April depending on the surgeon's advice. Thanks again for all the support, prayers, positive vibes!
