Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We quickly realized how overwhelming it is to try to keep family and friends updated so we thought having it all in one place would make things easier. We appreciate your support with prayers, words of hope & encouragement and even humor!

Journal entry by John & Julie Brincks

I had my follow up appointment on Thursday with Dr. Behrens and it was great! I couldn’t ask for better care from Dr. Behrens and his team! Many have told me that it takes a special person to be a teacher and I think it takes a special person to be a cancer doctor! Delivering bad news, coming up with a treatment plan and explaining the procedures, all with a positive and caring demeanor cannot be easy. Someone has to do that job and my team has been the best at all of these things and I can’t thank them enough!
My next appointment will be a scan at the end of June and then scans every 4-6 months after that. It will be strange not going to appointments every other week but it will also feel good! I also return to school on Wednesday next week and I am pretty excited to be around my Oviatt family every day for a little over month before we break for summer! I’m excited to get back to a normal life!
This has been a long journey and you all have been a crucial part of my treatment plan and healing! Your prayers and positive vibes were, and still are, felt every day! We are so lucky to be surrounded by such supportive friends and family! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I know my journey isn’t completely over, but I know that whatever’s thrown my way is a fight worth fighting for no matter what!
