Julie’s Story

Site created on July 4, 2020

Our Mom Julie had a fall on the 2nd of July which resulted in her being airlifted to the University of Vermont hospital in Vermont where she is currently being treated.  At this time she is paralyzed and we are unsure of what the road ahead will look like.  She will likely have months of hospitalizations, possible surgeries, tests and rehab ahead of her.  - BJ, Lisa, Kerri and Jennifer

Newest Update

Journal entry by Jennifer Eckels

It has been a busy few weeks out West so I apologize for the lack of updates. I think as we head into the holiday season and New Year this will be my last update. Mom is able to talk on the phone and use Facebook so getting in touch with her for updates is easy.

At this point it is just a waiting game for her body to decide how far it wants to go in recovery. She continues to work with the PT and OT at home three times a week.  They have expressed an expectation that she will get to a point where she can stand and use a slide board. They are not optimistic that she will be able to walk as she did before but there's always room for hope!

On behalf of my siblings I just want to thank you all for your continued support and prayers for us and for Mom. It has been a wild last half of 2020 for all of us. We appreciate everything you have done for Mom. Thank you.
