Hi! We decided to start the clinical trial, which consist of an infusion every other week of Avastin (which I would receive anyways). Its job is to starve the tumor, decrease swelling in my head, and cut off the blood supply to the tumor. The clinical part of the trial are six chemo pills I take every day that is currently FDA approved for breast cancer, that I am trialing for brain cancer. In summary I do an infusion every other week, pills every day, see my doctor once a month, and will do another MRI in two months. My next infusion is this coming Wednesday the 21st. Please pray all goes well. We are currently working to get home health occupational and physical therapy, and a wheelchair and braces for my hand and leg to assist in mobilization approved by insurance. Unfortunately my function on my right side quickly declined over the past couple of weeks and I am using a walker for short distances in the house and a wheelchair for getting out of the house. Please pray for no more falls with walking, I have had two. Luke was able to find a used wheelchair and lift what goes on his truck so we can go to appointments and soccer games. On a positive note my seizures are slightly better controlled, my last one was ten days ago!!!
My friend Emily has been visiting from the UK, it has been great to get to see her and her family and spend extra time with her. I am so grateful for all of our friends and family who have been bringing meals, doing things around the house, and hanging out with me during the day. A big thanks to all my Sher-town friends for my lift chair. And we greatly appreciate all of the gift cards, flowers and little gifts to cheer me up. k
Please pray for positive results from the clinical trial medication, and improved function to my right side.
