Family and Friends,

It's been awhile since I sent an update so I thought I'd check in with you all. I'm finally feeling better and I'm able to get around and feel like my old self. I'm still restricted in my activities but hopefully that will change soon. I've been on a high protein diet (100-120 grams/day) to help with healing for my incisions and the tissue underneath from my surgery. The infection took its toll and I ended up having to visit the Wound Clinic a few times a week since the beginning of August. They do fantastic work and I've gotten such great care and I'm about 95% healed. Hopefully, this week will be my last visit!

I'm now on the maintenance chemo every 3 weeks until January. This chemo isn't bad though and the side effects are minimal - just a little fatigue and some achy muscle and joints. I'm looking forward to starting some yoga and/or pilates to help with the aches.

Things around the house are great. I have some awesome friends that have done a few projects for me and more importantly, I've gotten to spend some time with them along the way. I made it to Ball State for parent's weekend and to see Annamarie a couple of weeks ago and I'll be going to Bloomington on 10/12 for the game and to see Jack. Oh, and my hair is growing back which is great! I even had my first haircut to get it somewhat into a style! :)

This past weekend Kathleen and I took a little trip to New York for a getaway and it was awesome. It was my first time in NYC and it was amazing. We walked a lot, ate a lot and laughed a lot - Just what I needed!

Thanks to all of you for your continued prayers and support. It isn't easy being the receiver of help and it takes some getting used to for sure.

I'll keep you posted as I get closer to January and all of my treatment is over.

Much love to you all and Happy Fall!

Love,
Julie
