Julie Ann (Buth) Mayo

August 4, 1955 - July 22, 2023

Julie Ann Mayo, beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother, passed away on July 22, 2023, in Elk River, Minnesota, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 4, 1955, in Breckenridge, Minnesota.

Julie's greatest joy in life was her family. She leaves behind her loving and devoted husband of 50 years, Rowley Mayo, who was her pillar of strength throughout their journey together. Julie is survived by her loving daughters, Angela Voss (Peter Voss) and Sherryse Corrow (Jeff Corrow), along with her cherished grandchildren, Lucy Voss, Emelia Voss, Grace Voss, Eleanor Corrow, and Isadora Corrow, along with her siblings Carol Martin, Kathy Tangen, and Merle Buth. Julie was preceded in death by her father and mother, Laurence and Ruby Buth and her granddaughter, Julia Corrow. Julie was the utmost loving and devoted grandma, and she treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren, never missing an opportunity to attend their events and celebrate their accomplishments.

Julie was an inspiration to her daughters, teaching them the importance of steadfast-strength, love, and compassion. Her unwavering faith in her Lord guided her throughout her life and she was always a source of comfort and hope to those around her. She embodied the spirit of selflessness and kindness, always extending a helping hand to those in need. Her dedication to making a positive impact on the lives of others led her to many years of charitable work, including starting a “Granny’s Closet” - an organization providing assistance to those in challenging times, in Elk River, MN.

In recognition of her commitment to community service and volunteerism, Julie was awarded the MSSA “MN Retiree of the Year” in 2019. Her tireless efforts and dedication to making the world a better place touched the lives of countless individuals and will leave a lasting legacy.

Julie's warmth, compassion, and love for her family and community will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Julie’s celebration of life will be held at Resurrection Lutheran Church (9300 Jason Ave NE) in Monticello, MN on August 4th - visitation at 10:00am, service at 11:00am, with lunch to be provided immediately following the service. The service will be live streamed (link provided on her CaringBridge site before the service). In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (https://www.bcrf.org/) or a charity that reminds you of Julie.
