Life update...on July 20th, I felt several large lumps in my neck on the left side. I wasn’t too concerned because I thought it may just be an infection. I made an appointment with my doctor just to be sure. Over the course of the next 6 days, more painful lumps started forming on my left side and my chest became tight and harder to get a full breath. I was sent to a few different specialists and had a lot of tests run. I had a surgical biopsy of the lymph nodes in my neck on August 12th. I got a phone call on August 19th that I have cancer, stage 3 Hodgkin’s lymphoma (possibly stage 4, awaiting bone marrow biopsy results). It was certainly a shock, but also a relief to finally have a diagnosis. I now have my port in and will soon start 6 months of chemo every 2 weeks.

I tell you all of this, not for pity, but asking for prayers. I know there will be some tough days ahead. We have already been immensely blessed with prayers, meals, gifts, encouragement, etc from family and friends. My God is Awesome and I will continue to praise Him through this storm. He saw this coming and I know He’s got this!

We will try to update here weekly, if possible. We’ve never been through this personally, so we’ll see how it goes. We love you all!

Journal entry by Julie Wright

As we end 2021, I think I’m going end my journal posts on here. Cancer will always be a part of my story, but I’m ready to really move forward in 2022. I’ll keep my page open, but I don’t foresee posting much, if at all in the future.

I had a CT scan early December and it came back clean 🙌🏻 My next pet scan will be this summer. My next oncologist appointment is in March, it’s so nice to have my calendar free of multiple visits a month!

We had a wonderful thanksgiving and Christmas. We went on two separate trips during those times and I did really well, all things considered. My swelling continues to go down and my neuropathy is getting some better too.

I wanted to thank you all so much for your encouragement and prayers along the way. You’ll never know how much it means to me that you cared enough to stop by on here.

I ask that you pray for a friend of mine from church, her name is Rhonda. She is beginning her cancer battle. I know for sure that cancer happened to me so that I can help others with their journey. I have walked in those shoes.

I love you all and thank you again!
