Julie’s Story

Site created on January 5, 2022

On January 4th, Julie woke up and just knew something wasn't right. She was later diagnosed with a cerebellar stroke (very rare, especially in a healthy female with no predisposing factors) and subsequent obstructive hydrocephalus, which is swelling on her brain. See more updates on her below. Thank you for your thoughts and well wishes.

Journal entry by Lori Sabado

Imagine waking up on January 4, 2022, with your life completely turned upside down by a stroke. For 2+ years, she has been working every day to regain some semblance the life she had. Many of you know the difficult road she has travelled. Outdoors For All has been an integral part in her recovery. OFA helped bring back cycling and skiing, two very important parts of her life. We cannot say enough about this organization and its volunteers who give their time and efforts into sharing the outdoors with everyone who may not otherwise have the opportunity. Just watch this video of Julie.
