Julie’s Story

Site created on April 26, 2018

On Tuesday, April 24, Julie stayed home from work as she didn’t feel well. As the day progressed, she had a severe headache. She asked Ernie to take her to the ER. Once there, they diagnosed her with a brain bleed and flew her to Virginia Mason in Seattle. Shortly after arriving, they removed the left side of her skull to allow for swelling and to reduce the pressure in her brain. There has not been a lot of change since then. Lots of monitoring and keeping her vitals stable to ensure there isn’t any further bleeding. At this point it is a waiting game. It’s between Julie and the good Lord to decide the next step in her healing process. Julie is young and fighting hard. Please continue to pray for her, Ernie, Clint, and Brodie. She is surrounded by lots of love!

Journal entry by Toni Paganelli

Julie continues to be our miracle! She has made a ton of progress. She has been at home with Ernie since August. She is receiving therapy several times a week and making great gains. She is walking both with a walker and without. She has gained almost full use of her right hand again. Physically she is doing phenomenal. Speech is still a struggle, but she continues to work with the therapist and makes gains every week. She is great with short responses. Generating sentences on her own can be difficult. She enjoys visitors, but please contact Ernie before driving out. Thank you for your continued prayers and support!
