Journal entry by Judy Straub —
Well it’s been six weeks since my last entry. And this will be my last entry.
It’s been a crazy ride since June 10th when I first was in the hospital. I truly want to thank all of you for your thoughts, prayers, cards, visits, walks, helping at the house and meals. I can’t explain the love I have felt these past three months. God is good, all the time, and he truly shined through all of you🙏🏼🥰.
I’ve been going to physical therapy twice a week since I’ve been home and it’s been great! Some things I’m even better at then before I got sick🤪.
A couple weeks ago they were working on my legs a lot. Lots of squats, walking on uneven ground, and stretches. On my ride home all of a sudden the back of my thighs started burning. I thought wow, this is really bad, guess I’m not as far as long as I thought. Just then I looked down and saw I had the heated seat on high😂😂😂. My legs were just fine by the time I got home. 😊
Yesterday I saw the neurologist that treated me. He said I’m in the 80% that recover completely. Just keep working on my longevity for walking and I’ll be just fine. I asked if I could get this again. He said yes but very rare. He has had only one other patient in his career that got it twice. I like those odds👍🏼
I will be going back to work September 21st. Three days a week for 4 hours a day to see how I do. Hopefully after two weeks I’ll be able to go back to my regular hours. I don’t work full time anymore. About 30 hours a week, so I’m confident I’ll be back to those hours.
Again, thank you all. Please don’t be a stranger and hope to see you soon.
God Bless,
Love Judy
