Hello to all my dear Friends & Family...

Today is my 10 week PREVIVOR Anniversary😍
I am so happy to be on the "other side" of my BRCA2 journey! Of course I am already back on “Judy time” and rushing through my days on my own personal time clock!! Living life full again!

The Blondies are very upset with their Mama Judy because I have failed the one responsibility they gave me... posting a final CaringBridge update three weeks ago. Ugh...it must be something to do with "Judy time"! I want to apologize to those of you who were worried about me because there was no update on my progress😕

Since the Blondies made their last CaringBridge post, my life has returned back to the craziness it was pre-surgery. When my final drain was removed and my doctor gave me the go ahead to teach, there was no possibility of easing into it...I just went back full force! It was awesome and I needed to get my life back!

Today...I am happy, feeling great and looking forward to getting my fitness level back to where it was prior to my BRCA2 journey. I was worried that my double pneumonia diagnosis would no longer allow me to teach, talk and motivate all at once. This was a big deal because teaching fitness is my passion and to do it right, all three are necessary!  Thankfully, I didn't forget how to teach, I can still teach and talk at the same time and my military motivation level is back with a vengeance!

I love, love, love😍 being back at Crunch! It is wonderful to be wanted and gives me great joy every time one of my "people" tells me they couldn't wait for my return.  Believe me...I missed all of you more than you missed me!

All other activities in my life are slowly returning to some level of normalcy! AirBnb is back on track, 'Pilates in the House' has started up again, I am back to training most of my clients AND...the BROWN EYED GIRLS are practicing for a possible March gig! Ahhhhhhhh, Life is good!

A few weeks ago I had what I thought would be my final appointments with my surgeons, pulmonologist and hematologist. Unfortunately I will need one more follow up surgery to make a few adjustments and remove some tissue that didn’t survive the surgeries. It is very common to have a follow up surgery 4-6 months post-op.  I was hoping I would be one of the lucky ones but no such luck. All of my Doctors feel confident this will be the final surgery. I have not set a date but most likely it will be sometime in March. The good news is that all of my lab reports came back cancer free, all of my incisions are completely healed, the pneumonia and blood clots are gone and I will never have to worry about ovarian and breast cancer again!!! I am a PREVIVOR!

As a woman, a mother, a sister, an aunt, a girlfriend, a Brown Eyed Girl, a Fitness freak, a lover of music, someone who is constantly moving and lives life to its very fullest... I am most thankful for my health! I want to be living in my beautiful life giving love, joy and energy to all of “my people”! I want to be healthy so I can be the best mother I can be in the lives of the Blondies! I want to be healthy so I can continue to do the activities that make me happy!

God has blessed me with the most amazing doctors, nurses, family, true girlfriends and especially... my precious BLONDIES!! Without all of you... I could have never recovered so quickly and smoothly after my surgery. My plastic surgeon, Dr. Albino, said I was the happiest, most positive, energetic, standing upright (not bent over), 5 week post-op breast reconstruction patient he has ever had!! I attribute that to all the love I felt and support I was given at every turn of my recovery. Thank You All😘 😘 😘

Last but not least...many of you have asked about my "Blondies"? Asking how my four lovely ladies became "the Blondies"? In 1997 we were stationed in Naples, Italy. Our first month was spent living at the beach. We would spend our days digging in the sand, frolicking around in the ocean, being invited to join a family under their umbrella for an Italian feast and learning the beautiful Italian language! It was a magical time in our lives and we all fell in love with Bella Italia...the language, their incredible food but mostly the people! Wherever the girls and I would be in that sweet little Italian beach town...we could always hear someone saying..."Americani! Biondi! Biondi! Che bellisimi i Biondi Americani"! You guessed it...Biondi is the Italian word for Blonds! So, whenever addressing the four girls as a group, it has always been "the Blondies"! The attached picture on this post was taken on the Ponte Vecchio in Florence that same summer.
The Blondies are my life!
They are the reason I live!
I love them to the Moon and Back again a gazillion million bazillion times!
They are all amazing, smart, successful young women!
The Blondies are Strong, Courageous and do not let anything stand in their way!

I hope you all have the opportunity to meet "the Blondies"!!

Thanks again to all of you who donated to my Instacart account and made my life super easy during my recovery, to those of you who prepared special meals, delivered homemade pies and cookies, mailed me chocolate covered strawberries and different flavored rugelach, delivered chicken penicillin and matza ball soup, had flowers delivered, for all the beautiful cards and prayed for me! I also want to make a special shout out to my sister Leslie who mailed me her "garden in a box"! I loved it! It came filled with pumpkins, apples, dried hydrangeas and so much love. Also, I really can't thank enough, Leslie's sister in law who lives in San Francisco...Aunt Kathy-a Breast Cancer survivor-sent me a card every week, a gift, a gift certificate, breast cancer stamps, a gorgeous red suede handbag and lots of prayer. Thank you Aunt Kathy!

It is overwhelming to me the generosity, love and support I felt throughout my journey. It truly meant the world to me!!!

Love and Kisses to you all,
Judy Martini
