Judy’s Story

Site created on June 8, 2020

On Thursday, June 4th, Judy was in a bicycle accident. She got thrown off her bike after shifting off the path, landed on the left side of her body and hit her head hard. Daryl was with her and brought her to the ER at Mercy Hospital where they realized there was some serious damage.  As a result of the head injuries she was transferred to HCMC in Minneapolis where she underwent brain surgery to remove a blood clot and help reduce bleeding and swelling. She is now in recovery in the ICU, still unconscious and we are waiting for her to wake up and become responsive.

Read the journals below to get more details of her current condition and ways you can be praying for Judy and the Slegh family.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Daryl and Judy Slegh

It's been one year exactly since the doctor's report on 6/6/20 said that Judy had no brain functions for over a day, and that she might wake up from her coma in days, weeks, months or never. And if she did, she might be paralyzed on her right side, and have loss of speech, memory, or emotions - depending on what the part of the brain that was removed controlled.

With Judy's permission, attached are two pictures - one from our 1st zoom session with her while Judy was still in a coma - 6/8/20. And the 2nd picture from 6/5/21 as we visited the Ark Encounter on the 1 year anniversary of her 6/5/20 brain surgery.

Just wanted to acknowledge that God is  not only a Healer that can heal instantly, but a Healer that uses processes and time and His human hands and feet to achieve His healing and His will.

Thanks again for all of your support over the last year in various ways - His wonders to perform!

Daryl
