Judy’s Story

Site created on October 15, 2019

Mom had a small bleeding hemorrhage stroke on Saturday October 12th. She was admitted to North Memorial on Saturday night. No surgery was needed. She only spent two nights in ICU. She is now in her own room and has passed some swallow tests. She has a long road ahead of recovery ahead of her. One day at a time. Every day she gets a little stronger.  She has a lot of support from her family.

Journal entry by Julie Johnson

Beautiful weekend! Mom was able to get outside on Friday for her doctor appointment and again today I took her to get her haircut. She continues to improve, she is walking only with a can and we have to remind her to user her cane as she wants to be independent. She is getting lots of in home therapy which she does but is not her favorite. We are all taking turns being with her and playing lots of games to help with recall. Her Blood pressure and blood sugars have improved a bit and she is enjoying the home cooked meals! The boys were able to fix the railing for her also. Lots of things to do but each day mom has a smile on her face. We love you mom 😘
