Journal

This will probably be my last post here.

I can't say enough good things about the wonderful support I have had over the past 5 or 6 weeks. Brian and Rori (and Henry!) were a godsend. Susie Rosenzweig, the Mooneys and the Trabbs went above and beyond. Rabbi Haas was a blessing. I can't name everyone but thank you all.

The Celebration service went off without a hitch, and our friends, out-of-town guests and cousins had a chance to meet and mingle.

Special thanks to the travelers: Cousins Meryl and Rich Weiss from New York, Brian's long-time friends Michael Janson and Jared Miller and cousins David and Maria Shulz from Pennsylvania, my long-time friend Charles (sorry - you will always be Chuck to me) Pyatt from New Jersey, Rori's father Chip from North Carolina (Her mother Robin had to take care of Rori's grandmother and could not come.), my brother Rick from Florida, and Brian's friend Josh Rosenthal from D.C. (I hope I didn't miss anybody!)

I am glad that the streaming of the service was a success. I received lots of nice comments from all over.

And, so, it's the end of the beginning. Brian, Rori and Henry leave today. I won't see them for a while, but you can bet I will make it up to D.C sooner rather than later.

I now move on to adjusting to a new life. I have never lived alone before. It's a huge adjustment. I still think Judy is next to me in bed sometimes, and I often find myself wanting to share something when I realize she is no longer there. I am mostly OK, but sometimes it is tough. (Like right now while I am writing this.)

Thank you all for your love and support. It's time to move on to the next stage of my life.
