Judy Bosscher

On Thursday, July 13, 2023 Judy Bosscher took her final breath in this world and her next in Paradise, embraced by the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was born May 17, 1954, and lived a full, joyous life of faith, hope and love.

Her love for learning led to many interests. Her passions included gardening, knitting, baking bread, interior decorating, restoring furniture and anything else that needed repairs, and finding deals at garage sales! Her passion for worship and music, which were shared by her husband, put her on many stages, leading music at churches, youth retreats, and Youth Unlimited conventions all over the country.

While those were some of the activities she pursued, her real passion was loving people and showing them the personal love that was found in knowing Jesus. She loved spending time alone with the Lord as well as with her family. Many more people than we’ll ever know were given words of wisdom, a prayer, and (of course) a hug!

She and her husband, Brian, were married on May 21, 1976. She is survived by him and their three children and their spouses (Paul and Elise Bosscher, Rachel and Dan Atwood, David and Sara Bosscher). She and Brian were also blessed with 7 beautiful grandchildren.

A defining season of her life began in February 2016 when she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. She worked tirelessly to beat the cancer through every available means. This time of illness never once held her back from living life to the full. More than ever before she let others know about the love of God in Christ. While she loved her family and the life she was living, her greatest desire was to be with the Lord. That desire was satisfied when cancer became her “chariot of fire” to bring her Home.

While flowers were her love language (both growing and receiving them), her wish was to have donations made to 222Disciple in lieu of flowers. This is a one-to-one discipleship ministry where her husband serves as the Executive Director.

A Service of Celebration will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at 6:30 PM at the Cascade Fellowship CRC, 6655 Cascade Rd. SE, Grand Rapids. There will be a time of visitation and refreshments following the service.
