Surgery went well. Almost a month out, I still have to be very cautious with activity and have to limit how much I can lift (including my chunky baby). The surgery itself did not give me much pain but I am still struggling with the late effects from radiation. The scar tissue tightens and becomes very stiff, and there is also a lot of nerve damage in that area. The result is that if I do any sort of activity that strains it too much, I get really deep pain in my chest, back, side, armpit...basically the whole quadrant. I've been referred to pain management to try and figure out how to resolve this issue. Good news though is that Monday is my actual, for-real-this-time, final day of chemotherapy and the end of active cancer treatment. When I started, I thought it would be about 6 months. 17 months later, here we are. I will continue to be monitored by oncology for anything concerning, and will probably still have more revision surgery down the road but at least we are finally done with poison. Fingers crossed for a normal, pain-free summer. Thanks for stopping by 🫡
