WE ARE HOME! WITH JUDE!
Sitting in our quiet little testosterHOME while all the boys are napping, so I wanted to update our loving friends and family...
Thanking God for our family of five under one roof today!
Happy Birthday to Papa McCarron---Jude came home on your birthday at two weeks old, and Cormac came home on Nina's birthday at ten days old-great markers for my less than fabulous memory~
SWEET JUDE's homecoming was celebrated well by just the five of us--and Vaughn, who requested Chickfil-a for the big day, with chocolate milk(-super treat-) was so happy! I sat on our big comfortable couch and nursed BOTH boys--I stared in awe at their sideburns 😳😂💙💙
and Jude, who hasn't nursed since Monday, latched well and ate like it was his job for 20 minutes. His cheeks tell me he will do jusssst fine.
We will be keeping these little guys in a bit of a bubble for about 8 weeks per the expertise and recommendations of NICU docs and nurses. Their grandparents who have graciously and carefully been socially distancing for months now and quarantining well will see them and continue to help us get into a rhythm with two newborns.
To be clear--we aren't really concerned about COVID because all the research is suggesting babies aren't getting ill with covid, but all the little viruses and bacterial things in between could mean rehospitalization for them, and lots of invasive procedures like spinal taps and blood cultures etc. We are aiming to prevent this scenario!
But we can't wait for everyone else to meet them when they're a little bigger and a little less at risk for small bugs becoming really big bugs to their little bodies and lungs.
In the meantime, thank goodness for facetime and smart phones and photo sharing!
WE LOVE YOU ALL!
