Jeff’s Story

Site created on May 22, 2013

Welcome to our CaringBridge site. We've created it to keep friends and family updated. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement during this time when it matters most.

After a visit to the internist for a relatively routine issue, Jeff was referred to a urologist for some follow-up testing. After blood tests, an MRI, and CAT scans, it was determined that Jeff has a large tumor on his left kidney.  The kidney will be removed.  It is our hope that this will be a very short-lived Caring Bridge site in that the doctor is optimistic that everything is contained in the tumor.  We remain optimistic that nothing has spread, but we will not know for sure until Jeff's surgery.   Surgery is scheduled for June 3rd in the early afternoon.  Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers, and we will keep you updated via Caring Bridge.

Journal entry by Nancy Sesok

Jeff has been doing well on his road to recovery.  He is building his strength little by little every day.  We've taken walks outside, gone to dinner with friends, watched the Penn State game with the alumni group in Ellicott City, and today we went to church.  Jeff is a bit frustrated that he isn't up to 100% yet, but patience isn't his strong suit.
We've had follow-up appointments with several doctors, the most important of which has been the cardiologist.  So far, so good.  We're hoping that, with time, the heart will adapt to the new valve, become stronger, and the other heart issues will subside.  Fingers crossed.
