Journal entry by Brandy Cain —
24 days of being in a hospital room. 24 days of Camryn and Carson not seeing their dad. 1 week of Cassidy stepping away from Kentucky to be at the hospital. 2 intubations. Countless sleepless nights. Many tears shed. An abundance of love, support and answered prayers. And one oxygen tank later….he his home!!
It seemed like this day would never happen! We were told at the hospital that John is the first covid patient at IU to survive two intubations. We are so thankful for all the love and prayers shown to us by so many people! We have been amazed by the generosity of our family, friends and coworkers!
John still has a long road ahead of him. He is on a little bit of oxygen still. He will be off work for at least 4 more weeks, maybe longer. But we are thankful to have him home!
With much love and gratitude,
The Cain Family
