I wanted to give an update regarding Joy. She began dealing with headaches on 1/18/2024. Dr. Lachance ordered an MRI of the brain, which she had done on 1/25/2024.  She was to keep her appointment for her infusion on 2/1/2024. Then she had a virtual visit with Dr. Lachance on Monday, 2/5/2024. He was concerned about the new lesions that were showing up on the MRI and scheduled her for a lumbar puncture (spinal tap) on 2/7/2024 down at the Mayo Clinic. The findings of the spinal tap confirmed his concerns. He wants Joy to have another infusion in 4 weeks from 2/1/2024, which she scheduled on 2/29/2024 and then she is to have an infusion every 6 weeks for the next few years.

While this is a set back, Joy stated that at least she knows what she is dealing with and she is not in the hospital. Her positive attitude reminds me of Joy's grandmother, Mary Jordahl, my mother, who dealt with many health issues, but her faith and trust in the Lord was evident through it all.

Joy needs to have a follow up appointment with Dr. Lachance in May. He also wants to have an MRI of her abdomen to confirm where they are at with those findings as well.
