Quick update this morning.
Josh is fully off all sedation meds and has opened his eyes some! This is amazing!! He is still very sleepy most of the day, which is expected. His body is working overtime to heal. I’m so thankful for Gods answered prayers. He is moving his arms and legs and they were able to assist him in sitting up on the edge of the bed. He’s having some trouble communicating, but the doctor assured us that this is expected and it will take time and therapy to recover. The nurse told us he said  “ouch” to her when she was messing with him. This is a big victory! He was able to connect a word with a feeling and then verbalize it.  He’s also having difficulties following commands, such as being asked to do something... squeeze my hand, or open your eyes. He can do these things on his own but not when asked yet. He is improving every day and each baby step is a step in the right direction. Please continue to pray for his healing and recovery, that every day he will continue improving with his speech and communication. Also pray that visitation will open soon. We still have not been able to see him yet. I truly believe that an important part of healing is having your family by your side. He needs to be able to hear and feel us, to know that we are there with him. God has really showed up and showed out! Your prayers are being heard and we are very thankful for all of you.
